Directions 2020 | Our Theme for 2019-2020
IMPACTING THE WORLD
In Matthew 28:19-20, the final two verses of Bible Reading Drive 2018, Jesus gave us the Great Commission:
“Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
— Matthew 28:19-20
Let’s GO and make disciples of all nations – at home, in the office, in the marketplace, and beyond Singapore.
In 2019 and 2020, Wesley Methodist Church will embark on the third and final theme of Directions 2020 – Impacting the World. Several initiatives have been lined up to enable us to Impact the World through three main strategies:
- Be a Witness
- Be a Blessing
- Be a Good Steward of God’s Creation
And as in the Great Commission, the keyword is GO!
Several initiatives have been lined up to enable the Wesley family to
Go and Impact the World.
In so doing, let’s continue:
Growing in Christ (theme for 2017) and
Building Community (theme for 2018) at the same time.

BE A WITNESS

BE A BLESSING

BE A STEWARD OF GOD'S CREATION
- The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters - Psalm 24:1-2 (NIV)
- The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. - Genesis 2:15 (NIV)
- For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. - Romans 8:19-21 (NIV)
