Children

At Wesley, we welcome, treasure and celebrate each child! For generations, parents and caregivers at Wesley have put their children and grandchildren through the Children’s Ministry (CM) and BeTween, where they are discipled into a vibrant personal relationship with God so as to bear witness for Christ and be empowered to serve and worship Him.

Children’s Ministry programmes run concurrently with the services except for 7.30am Traditional Service.

Programmes are specially catered for these age groups:

Preschoolers (18 months to 6 years old)

Children of this age group make meaning of their world through their five senses. Early impressions of God and the ability to trust are acquired through the love and care that they receive from their caregivers. God’s Word is best learnt through storytelling and personal interaction at this age.

Primary (7 to 10 years old)

Learning becomes more formal and structured, as children are now able to grasp information mentally and logically. Children of this age group thrive in the systematic learning of God’s Word, and the curriculum focuses on chronology and key themes of the Bible.

Children with special needs

As the Body of Christ, we are all called to reach out to others and demonstrate Christ’s love, to take the initiative to actively pursue inclusion and acceptance in our church and community. Taking this mission to heart are the volunteers in the Praise Special Community (PSCom) who care for children in Wesley who require additional help or special attention due to medical or learning disabilities. Founded in 1992, PSCom meets every Sunday at 5pm. Our community currently consists of over 20 children, youths and young adults with autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome or intellectual disability.

PSCom is a community in which persons with special needs can come just as they are to worship God together with the congregation without being misunderstood or judged.
